Scottsdale Family Resource Center
In its response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Scottsdale Family Resource Center (SFRC) is offering virtual workshops and has postponed in-person parenting activities. Staff is available at 480-312-0038.
The city continues to serve the public throughout situations like the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and is closely tracking the situation to ensure that city staff and the public are protected.
The Scottsdale Family Resource Center provides a variety of services free of charge to support families, parents, caregivers, expectant parents and their young children ages birth through age five (not yet in kindergarten).
Located in South Scottsdale at the Paiute Neighborhood Center, the Family Resource Center offers guidance and support for families with young children by providing access to resources, referrals to support services, and educational programs to ensure healthy growth and development for Scottsdale’s youngest learners and their families as they grow and thrive together.

First Things First
Scottsdale Family Resource Center services are provided by First Things First which partners with families and communities to give all Arizona Children the opportunity to arrive at kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed. Learn more at FirstThingsFirst.org.
Events & Programs
Parent Advisory Committee Story Time and Craft
The SFRC Parent Advisory Committee presents a virtual family story time and craft for children ages 3-5 years and their parents or caregivers. Please call 480-312-0038 to pre-register and receive information on how to join this virtual activity. Registered families are asked to pick up a bag of supplies at the SFRC that will be needed for use during the virtual activity.

Family Play Time
This is a weekly free program for parents and caregivers that provides an opportunity to explore and play with your child (ages infant – Pre-K) in a safe, indoor, open play area. We provide developmentally appropriate furniture, materials, and hands-on activities.
Class sizes are limited to 5 families per session (1 adult with 1-2 children/no school aged children permitted due to limited space). Please note that pre-registration is required. Call the Scottsdale Family Resource Center at 480-312-0038 to register and reserve a seat.

Cafecito Virtual (in Spanish)
A virtual parenting group for parents and caregivers of children 0-5 years-old with the goal of connecting with others, learning parenting strategies, sharing ideas, building a supportive community, and enjoying time together. For more information contact Rosita Pinedo at 480-312-7561.

School Readiness Kit Workshop
Parents and caregivers of 3–5-year-olds (not yet in Kindergarten) learn activities they can do at home to help their child develop foundational skills for future success in school. Each participant will receive three books, a detailed guide to a child’s developmental milestones, and more than 80 super fun activities in an attractive bag. Virtual and in-person workshops are available as the need arises. Call 480-312-0038 for more information.
Emergency Diaper Assistance
The Scottsdale Family Resource Center offers car seat inspections by appointment. A certified technician will inspect your car seat and show you how to install it. A limited number of car seats are available free of charge for Scottsdale residents that meet income guidelines. Call 480-312-0038 to make an appointment.
Parent Advisory Committee
The Scottsdale Family Resource Center Parent Advisory Committee is made up of parents and caregivers of the SFRC community to provide support to the Scottsdale Family Resource Center in its mission of supporting families to build a strong and vibrant parent and caregiver community. The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meets monthly and provides input to the Scottsdale Family Resource Center on designing programs and services that meet the needs of families in Scottsdale.
Donations of NEW baby items for Scottsdale families may be made by contacting the Scottsdale Family Resource Center at 480-312-0038 or ScottsdaleFamilyResourceCenter@ScottsdaleAZ.gov. Needed items include:
- new unopened diapers and wipes
- new unopened containers of formula and baby food
- new car seats
Monetary donations can be made to Partners for Paiute, a non-profit organization that funds programs and agencies at the Paiute Neighborhood Center. For more information, please visit the Partners for Paiute web site: www.partnersforpaiute.org
