Scottsdale Family Resource Center
In its response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Scottsdale Family Resource Center (SFRC) in-person parenting activities are currently postponed until October. However, virtual parenting workshops are being offered.
Staff remains available to assist families Mon. - Fri., 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Call 480-312-0038 to make an appointment.
Emergency assistance to Scottsdale families that are in need of diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food is available while supplies last to qualified families by calling the Scottsdale Family Resource Center.
Donations of NEW baby items for Scottsdale families may be made by contacting the SFRC at 480-312-7562 or ScottsdaleFamilyResourceCenter@ScottsdaleAZ.gov.
The city continues to serve the public throughout situations like the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and is closely tracking the situation to ensure that city staff and the public are protected.
The Scottsdale Family Resource Center provides a variety of services free of charge to support families, parents, caregivers, expectant parents and their young children ages birth through age five (not yet in kindergarten).
Located in South Scottsdale at the Paiute Neighborhood Center, the Family Resource Center offers guidance and support for families with young children by providing access to resources, referrals to support services, and educational programs to ensure healthy growth and development for Scottsdale’s youngest learners and their families as they grow and thrive together.
SFRC Parent Advisory Committee
The Scottsdale Family Resource Center Parent Advisory Committee is made up of parents and caregivers of the SFRC community to provide support to the Scottsdale Family Resource Center in its mission of supporting families to build a strong and vibrant parent and caregiver community. The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meets monthly and provides input to the Scottsdale Family Resource Center on designing programs and services that meet the needs of families in Scottsdale.

First Things First
Scottsdale Family Resource Center services are provided by First Things First which partners with families and communities to give all Arizona Children the opportunity to arrive at kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed. Learn more at FirstThingsFirst.org.
Upcoming Events & Programs
The Scottsdale Family Resource Center has partnered with Child Crisis Arizona to offer online parenting workshops to support positive parenting skills that build strong families. All workshops are hosted on Zoom and require video capabilities.
Programming is live and cannot be viewed outside the scheduled session. Pre-Registration is required in order to receive an online access code, so please contact us at 480-312-0038 so we can assist with the registration process.
Raising a Reader® (virtual)
This engaging virtual series presented by Arizona’s Children Association includes 4 workshops for parents and 8 weeks of award-winning books to read with your child at home. Participate in Raising a Reader® and learn:

- Effective Techniques to Foster Language & Early Literacy Development
- How Book Sharing Promotes Healthy Brain Development

Family Play Time
This is a weekly free program for parents and caregivers that provides an opportunity to explore and play with your child (ages infant – Pre-K) in a safe, indoor, open play area. We provide developmentally appropriate furniture, materials, and hands-on activities.
Class sizes are limited to 5 families per session (1 adult with 1-2 children/no school aged children permitted due to limited space). Programs begin weekly on Thursday, Oct. 8, and Friday, Oct. 9. Please note that pre-registration is required. Call the Scottsdale Family Resource Center at 480-312-0038 to register and reserve a seat.
Infant – 2 yrs. Program: Thursdays 10 – 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 – 2 p.m.
3yrs. - Pre-K Program: Fridays 10 – 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 – 2 p.m.
Baby's First Conference
Discover the insider tips you need to transform your relationship with your baby and fall completely in love with new motherhood in this virtual event. This event will bring together 32 of the best baby experts and maternal health advocates to teach you exactly what to expect during your baby's first year.
This event is FREE from Oct. 6 - 12, 2020.
Books Can...© (in Spanish)
Books Can...© is a unique program based on Arizona's Infant & Toddler Guidelines and Arizona's Early Learning Standards that uses popular picture books, rhymes, songs and interactive activities to promote children's social and emotional development.

Cafecito Virtual (in Spanish)
