Reports, photographs, audio, on-body camera, and police related records can be requested by the following methods:

Record Request FAQ
- Is there a cost involved?
- If you are the victim of a crime, one copy of the police report and on-body camera recording is available free of charge pursuant to ARS § 39-127.
- Requests from other parties are subject to the current fee schedule.
- How are requests fulfilled?
- Once the request is complete, Records staff can provide information via secure email, you can pick the record up or view it in our lobby.
- How long do requests take to process?
- Requests are generally handled in the order they are received with priority given to requests from victims and government entities.
- General inquiries for documents have a backlog of 8-10 months.
- Requests for on-body camera footage have a backlog of 12-14 months.
- Can you tell me how long it will be until my request is complete?
- Requests are prioritized based on several factors, including complexity, volume, and processing time, making us unable to estimate the fulfillment timeline.
Traffic Collision Reports Request
The Scottsdale Police Department has partnered with CARFAX CRASHDOCS.org to provide our collision reports online for convenience and secure access.
You will need the last name of an involved party, date of collision, the departmental report number (DR#) and a valid credit card to access your report for a quick and easy download.
Government Agency Requests
Government backgrounds should be submitted via email to Police Records and must include your ORI#.
Requests not for Government agencies will not be processed via email.
Obtain a Record of Search for Personal Criminal History
To obtain a Record of Search for personal criminal history
- Requests for a Record of Search are completed in-person during Records lobby business hours, Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Records of Search provides information regarding contact or records with Scottsdale Police only.
- A current Photo ID, such as a Driver’s License, ID Card of Passport is required.
- Cost: $10.00 per search/person
Obtain a National Check or Clearance Letter
Contact the FBI if you need a national records check or clearance letter typically needed for immigration, obtaining a visa or foreign adoption.

Fingerprinting Services
As of Jan. 1, 2011, the Scottsdale Police Department no longer offers fingerprinting services. You may try the ADOT website.
