Vacation and Short-Term Rentals

General Information

All properties offered for rent less than 30 days require a Scottsdale license

Scottsdale Ordinance 4566 requires rental property owners/operators to obtain a Scottsdale license for each property and comply with several safety, health and neighborhood notification requirements.

Short-term rentals cannot be used as commercial event venues

Scottsdale Ordinance 4719 defines "event center" to strengthen enforcement against short-term rentals used for weddings, corporate events, large parties and other commercial gatherings. The ordinance provides a clear standard for prohibited event-related activities while reinforcing that short-term rentals are intended for residential use only.
