City of Scottsdale facilities are not drop-off sites for household hazardous waste, electronics or appliances. Residents may not leave these materials at any city location, as they are not equipped to handle or process them. Proper disposal requires a specialized process to ensure safety and compliance, and is available only through appointment-based services or scheduled events, including quarterly electronics recycling events.
For residents newly settled into a single-family home in Scottsdale, we offer a dedicated pickup service specifically designed to collect move-in boxes. Additionally, we are available to retrieve and dispose of any appliances you no longer need.
The City of Scottsdale will only provide appliance and move-in box collections to residents of the City of Scottsdale who have City of Scottsdale solid waste service accounts.
- Please completely empty your boxes and flatten them before placing them at the front edge of your property.
- Because the boxes are taken to a recycling facility, any boxes that are not completely empty will not be picked.
- Packing paper can go in the residential mauve container and styrofoam can go in your residential black container. For excessive packing material, please dispose of it at your local waste facility.
