Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board

Description

Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-847, the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Boards,
Police local and Fire local, are responsible for deciding all questions of eligibility and service credits, and determines the amount, manner and time of payment of any benefits under the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System. These two Boards are composed of five members each, as follows: The Mayor of the City of Scottsdale or the Mayor's designee as approved by the City Council (The Mayor or designee shall serve as chairman); two Public Safety Retirement System members, elected by secret ballot by either the Scottsdale Police or Fire Department Public Safety Retirement System members respectively; two citizens, one of whom shall be the head of the merit system, and the other appointed by the Mayor of the City of Scottsdale with the approval of the Scottsdale City Council.
