The Department of Victim Services is looking for volunteer(s) who are warm, compassionate and interested in providing assistance to victims in the Criminal Justice System. Initial duties would include assisting Victim Advocates with administrative tasks such as victim notification letters, contacting victims for updated addresses when letters are returned, scanning and redacting restitution documents, etc. The Department will provide training and ideally, once the volunteer is comfortable, he or she would take on more duties including assisting victims with obtaining orders of protection, accompanying victims to court hearings, providing victim education on the criminal justice process and victim’s rights and participating in any outreach activities.
