Residential Rebates
Residential Grass Removal Rebate Closed on Oct. 31, 2022
This rebate received extraordinary participation this program year. Scottsdale Water is excited residents are converting grass to an Arizona-friendly landscape. This rebate will reopen next season. During the winter months, Bermuda grass is dormant, making it difficult to properly remove.
How to prepare for qualifying for the next rebate season
Dormant Bermuda requires minimal water - only about ½” of water per month to keep the stolons (lower part of grass stem) from drying out. When weather warms again, Bermuda comes out of dormancy, marking an opportune time to remove it. Grass must be maintained even if a rebate is planned. Per ordinance, ALL removal rebates require a pre-inspection before the grass is removed.
Do not start the removal process before the program reopens. Scottsdale Water cannot guarantee rebate requirements, eligibility, or amount for the grass removal rebate until July 1, 2023.

Qualifications
To view all requirements, read the appropriate application.
- Customer must receive water and/or sewer service from Scottsdale Water.
- Rebated products must be purchased on or after July 1, 2022 to qualify for a rebate. Products purchased before July 1, 2022 are not eligible for a rebate.
- Please ensure you review the eligibility requirements before you purchase and install a product. To search for WaterSense labeled products, visit LookforWaterSense.EPA.gov.
- Any grass, in-ground pool and/or spa or water softener in the process of being removed or already removed is not eligible for a rebate.
