The City of Scottsdale is getting ready to construct a series of improvements to provide connectivity from the Belleview bike route at 66th St. to the Crosscut Canal.
The project will include a concrete multi-use path, an accessible ramp to the canal bank, and a bridge crossing to improve access to the existing path on the west side of the canal and the McDowell Rd. underpass. Other enhancements will include way finding signage, lighting, and desert adapted landscaping to match the rest of the existing path on the Crosscut Canal to the north.
The contractor began working off-site in November to build the pedestrian bridge and other items with a long lead time. Work will begin on-site in January and take place Monday – Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. once all the materials needed to begin instillation are complete. Work will be performed by Visus under contract to the City of Scottsdale. The project is scheduled to be complete in May 2018.
