68th Street Bike Lanes
This project will make a series of improvements to 68th Street between Indian School Road and Thomas Road with the goal of improving safety, connectivity, and the quality of life for residents, students and visitors by completing critical north/south regional bike lanes on this major roadway.
68th Street Bridge Reconstruction
A routine inspection of the 68th Street bridge over the Arizona Canal, just north of Indian School Road, discovered deterioration that will require substantial repair.
68th Street Sidewalk - Arizona Canal to Camelback Road
The city will construct a 6-foot sidewalk on both sides of 68th Street from the Arizona Canal to just south of Camelback Road. The project will provide a consistent paved sidewalk to improve pedestrian movement and safety along this corridor.
Aquatics Chemical System Replacement
Bring the city's aquatics operations into compliance with federal Homeland Security guidelines by replacing the existing chemical treatment systems in all city pools with an on-site chlorine generation system.
Aquifer Storage and Recovery Wells

Build Multiuse Sports Fields in the area of Bell Road
Bond 2019 Project 53. Build up to 13 full sized multi-use sports fields at two locations, 94th St. and Bell Rd. and Thompson Peak Pkwy. and McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd., to meet the increased demand for lighted sports fields in the community, create the ability for Scottsdale to host larger tournaments and increase revenue.
Camelback Sidewalk
A new sidewalk will be constructed on the north side of Camelback Rd. between Miller Rd. and 73rd St.
Carefree Highway
The City of Scottsdale is in the early stages of design for improvements to Carefree Highway, from Cave Creek Road to Scottsdale (Tom Darlington) Road, to improve the capacity and operational efficiency of the roadway.
Chaparral Park Xeriscape Garden Drainage Improvements
The city of Scottsdale is working to make some necessary drainage improvements at the Scottsdale Xeriscape Garden, located at the northern end of Chaparral Park near the Dog Park and baseball fields.
Civic Center Improvements
This project will rebuild portions of the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall as the community’s signature special event and public gathering space.
Civic Center Mall Master Plan
Work is underway to develop a plan for future uses of the space and identify opportunities for needed improvements and renovations to the Civic Center Mall.
Crosscut Canal Path & Bridge
The City of Scottsdale is getting ready to construct a series of improvements to provide connectivity from the Belleview bike route at 66th St. to the Crosscut Canal.
DC Ranch Neighborhood Park
DC Ranch Neighborhood Park will be built in two phases. Phase one is currently underway and is scheduled to be complete during the spring of 2022. Planning for phase two is just beginning and this portion of the project is not yet funded.
Downtown Splash Pad
The City of Scottsdale has begun design of a splash pad to be located on the south side of the Marshall Way Bridge.
Drinkwater Bridge and Underpass Repair Work
Due to concrete deterioration found during ongoing inspection work on the Drinkwater Bridge and Underpass, the underpass is now closed. Additionally, access over the top of the overpass, which is on Civic Center Mall, will be closed to all activity.
Fifth Ave Repaving Project
Construction work is set to begin on 5th Ave between Scottsdale Rd and Indian School Rd. The asphalt on 5th Ave has reached the end of it’s service life and must be replaced. Construction work will occur in several phases between Aug. 9 and Sept. 16.
Fire Station 603
Buy land, design and build a new site for Fire Station 603 in the McCormick Ranch area to improve response times to that portion of the city.
Fire Station 605
Fire Station 605 was built in 1983. This project would improve the bathrooms, locker rooms, bunk rooms, and kitchen. The renovated apparatus bay area also will include an OSHA compliant decontamination room and personal protective equipment storage.
Fire Station 606 Renovation
The City of Scottsdale is making several improvements to Fire Station 606 which is located at the northeast corner of Via Linda and 108th St.
Fire Station 612
Design and construct a new 12,000 square foot fire station northwest of the Airpark near the 101 and Hayden Road to improve response times.
Fire Station 613
Plans are underway to construct a new home for Scottsdale Fire Station 613 at the southwest corner of Jomax and Hayden roads.
Fire Station 616
In the 2015 Bond Election Scottsdale voters approved funds to replace a temporary fire station facility with a permanent fire station at 110th Street and Cave Creek Road.
Fraesfield and Granite Mountain Trailhead Improvements
The Fraesfield Trailhead and Granite Mountain Trailhead are two of the eleven trailheads that provide public access to Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
Frank Lloyd Wright Pavement Preservation
As part of Scottsdale’s pavement preservation program, the city will be improving Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard from 100th Street to Loop 101.
Gainey Village Waterline Replacement Project
Construction within the Gainey Village association will take place from May - October to replace a waterline in the neighborhood.
Granite Reef Watershed Drainage and Flood Control Improvement
The primary objective of the Granite Reef Watershed Improvement Project is to eliminate the risk of structural flooding, eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) floodplain along Granite Reef Wash, and reduce street and yard flooding.
Happy Valley Road: Pima Road to Alma School Road
This project will widen Happy Valley Road to two through lanes in each direction with a landscaped median, curb and gutter, bike lanes, sidewalk and drainage improvements from Pima Road through the intersection of Alma School Road.
Hayden and Thomas Intersection Improvements
The City of Scottsdale is currently designing a series of modifications to the intersection of Thomas and Hayden roads to improve the safety of the intersection.
Indian Bend Ranchos Waterline Replacement
The City of Scottsdale is currently designing a number of improvements to the water delivery system in the Indian Bend Ranchos neighborhood in order to provide residents with reliable water service.
Indian Bend Wash - Repair Lakes and Irrigation
This project will make much needed repairs to the lakes in the Indian Bend Wash between Thomas and McKellips roads.

Indian School Road Pavement Preservation
As part of Scottsdale’s annual pavement maintenance program, the city will be improving Indian School Road from 60th Street to Scottsdale Road.
Install High Efficiency Sports Lighting at 4 Facilities
This project will replace, upgrade or install new lighting systems for sports fields at Laguna and Pima schools, Horizon Park and at two currently unlit fields at Scottsdale Sports Complex to meet increased demand and current sports lighting standards, and to minimize light spillage in adjacent neighborhoods.
Main Street Streetscape
The City of Scottsdale is beginning design work on new streetscape guidelines for downtown Scottsdale, beginning with Main St. from Scottsdale Rd. to 69th St.
Miller Road - Pinnacle Peak Road to Happy Valley Road
This project will connect Miller Road between Pinnacle Peak Rad and Happy Valley Road, including a bridge over the Rawhide Wash.
Mustang Transit Center
The city of Scottsdale is currently designing several transportation improvements along the 90th Street corridor between Shea Boulevard and Mountain View Road.
Osborn Road Improvements
The City of Scottsdale is in the early stages of planning a series of improvements along Osborn Rd. from Scottsdale Rd. to Hayden Rd., including a roundabout a Miller and Osborn roads.
Osborn Sewer Project
The City of Scottsdale will be increasing the size of a sewerline located in Osborn Road to improve capacity beginning June 8. The improvements will occur between Miller Road and Bishop Lane, just west of Scottsdale Road.
Paiute Neighborhood Center: Upcoming Projects
The City of Scottsdale is in the early planning stages for two different projects at Paiute Neighborhood Center. Paiute Neighborhood Center opened in 1994 to fulfill a need for community programs and social services.The Paiute campus provides services to many individuals, those being of the most vulnerable population babies, youth, teen, and older adults.
Papago Sports Complex Multiuse Trail
The City of Scottsdale, in partnership with the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department, will build the first phase of a new natural surface trail along the McDowell Road and 64th Street frontages in October and November of 2020.
Paradise Valley Farms Water Line Replacement
The city of Scottsdale has identified that the existing asbestos concrete water line in the Paradise Valley Farms subdivision is undersized and does not meet city standards and must be replaced.
Path Wayfinding Signage
The city will be placing new wayfinding signs along the paths network, including the Indian Bend Wash Path, the Crosscut Canal Path, the Arizona Canal Path and Pima Path from Thomas Road to Indian Bend Road.
Pima Road Improvements: Pinnacle Peak Road to Happy Valley Road
The project will widen Pima Road to three through lanes in each direction with a landscaped median, bike lanes, sidewalk and drainage improvements from 500-feet north of Pinnacle Peak Road to north of Happy Valley Road.
Pima-Dynamite Trailhead
This project is for the construction of amenities and other infrastructure improvements to serve passive recreational users at a major north community access area in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
Raintree Drive Extension
The Raintree Drive Extension will provide a direct connection between the SR 101L Freeway and Scottsdale Road. This extension will simplify the route from Hayden Road to Scottsdale Road and help to relieve some of the traffic congestion currently experienced on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.
Reata Wash Flood Control Study
The city of Scottsdale is studying a FEMA-designated floodplain in the region known as Reata Pass Wash to determine the severity of the flood risk in the area and identify potential options for reducing the current FEMA floodplain.
Replace Tennis Court Surface at Indian School Park and Scottsdale Ranch Park
Bond 2019, Project 10. Replace thirty-six, old asphalt tennis courts at Indian School Park and Scottsdale Ranch Tennis Center with post-tension concrete
Reservoir 43 Replacement
The city of Scottsdale has determined that the potable water reservoir (Reservoir 43) located near E. Greythorn Drive and N. 105th Place must be replaced due to its age and existing condition.
Scottsdale Ranch Sewer Line Rehabilitation
The city of Scottsdale will be rehabilitating a large sewer mainline pipe in Scottsdale Ranch beginning in the fall of 2020.
Scottsdale Road Improvements Jomax Road to Dixileta Drive
The City of Scottsdale is beginning to design a series of improvements to a two-mile segment of Scottsdale Road from Jomax Road to Dixileta Drive, including intersections.
Scottsdale Stadium Renovations
Creation of a master plan for the future upgrades, expansion and growth of the Scottsdale Stadium.
Shea Boulevard ITS & Intersection Improvements
Work is underway to install Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) fiber, vaults and conduit along Shea Blvd. between Loop 101 and 136th Street. The ITS installation will improve traffic operations along the corridor and facilitate future intersection improvements at Shea Blvd. and Via Linda, 110th, 114th and 136th streets.
Sherwood Heights Public Sewer Extension
The City of Scottsdale has been coordinating with Sherwood Heights neighborhood residents on a planned extension of the public gravity sewer system for several years. The objective of the project is for the city to provide an initial public sewer extension further into the southern part of the community and ultimately maximize the number of single-family homes, which are currently on septic systems, that will be able to connect to the public sewer.
Thomas A. Hontz Police & Fire Training Facility Renovation
Thomas Groundwater Treatment Facility and Improvements to the Central Groundwater Treatment Facility
The city of Scottsdale is constructing a new Reverse Osmosis water treatment facility, the Thomas Groundwater Treatment Facility (TGTF), on Thomas Road adjacent to the existing Central Groundwater Treatment Facility (CGTF) at Pima Park.
Thomas Road Complete Street
The Thomas Road Complete Street Project will design and construct bike lanes, curb ramps, pavement and intersection improvements on Thomas Road between 56th Street and 73rd Street.
Thompson Peak Park Dog Park
This project will build a three-and-a-half-acre Dog Park consisting of three fenced and gated areas.
Via Linda Roundabouts
The city will be replacing the traffic circles on Via Linda between Hayden and Pima roads with more modern roundabouts.
Water and Stormwater Infrastructure Upgrades at Pima Park
The city has obtained the large vacant parcel to the east of the park and plans to build a new water treatment facility and a storm water retention basin.
Water main rehab along E. Dove Valley Road
Scottsdale Water is committed to delivering safe, reliable drinking water to its customers. To do this, the city invests in infrastructure projects to improve water quality and delivery, improve aging infrastructure, and increase safety and security of the city’s water system.
Well Cluster 3 Arsenic Treatment Facility
The city is currently proceeding with centralized arsenic treatment for the Cluster 3 wells via design and construction of a new arsenic treatment facility.
