68th Street Sidewalk - Arizona Canal to Camelback Road

Project Overview

The city will construct a 6-foot sidewalk on both sides of 68th Street from the Arizona Canal to just south of Camelback Road. The project will provide a consistent paved sidewalk to improve pedestrian movement and safety along this corridor.

The project will include asphalt improvement on this segment of 68th Street and restriping on the street surface. The road will be restriped to its current lane configuration on one lane in each direction.

This project was created is in response to a citizen request and was added the city’s capital improvement plan by the City Council.

Public Outreach

The city is currently scheduling one-on-one meetings with property owner whose homes front 68th Street in mid-April. A larger public meeting will be scheduled for the entire community as the design work progresses.
