Scottsdale is home to many special events and bustles with restaurants and entertainment, and the sound associated with these activities can sometimes cause issues for Scottsdale residents and businesses.
The city is evaluating potential ordinance changes and other mitigation methods that could ease the impacts from unreasonable noise while maintaining a vibrant and successful event and business environment - and community feedback is a key part of this process.
People are invited to attend any of three interactive workshops where you can learn more and share ideas for improving the city’s response to this important quality of life issue:
- 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2
- 1 – 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6
- 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7
The content of each workshop is the same – choose the one that works best with your schedule. Each workshop will be held at the Scottsdale Community Design Studio, 7506 E. Indian School Road.

This is a step in the process to update the Special Noise Violations Ordinance, Scottsdale Revised Code §§ 19-24 through 19-31. The ordinance prohibits unreasonable noise created by businesses that serve alcohol or provide live entertainment. The purpose of the ordinance is to promote the health and general welfare of the public by protecting neighborhoods from unreasonable noise.
