Protective orders may still be obtained during this timeframe by visiting the Tempe City Court located at 140 E 5th Street, Tempe, AZ.

Total project cost is estimated at $15.2 million. On July 1, 2024, the city council approved the initial $2 million of funding for the preconstruction and design services phase of the project. The remaining cost to construct the project is being made as a General Fund request during development of the FY 2025/26 budget.
Design work began in March 2025 and will take place for the rest of the year. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the fall of 2026.

At the April 16, 2024, City Council Work Study session, the Council directed staff to move forward with building two parking garages. With funding approved in the 2019 Bond Election, the city will construct two additional levels at the 1st Street and Brown Avenue Parking Structure. Under separate appropriation, an additional structure will be built in the Northeast Quadrant of Old Town. On March 4, 2025, the City Council approved a Design Build Manager of Willmeng Construction, Inc. to design the structure.
