The ambulance annex will ensure continued rapid and efficient response to both emergency and non-emergency calls in the Station 601 service area, which serves approximately 37,500 residents and visitors.

The expansion will serve primarily as a dormitory and operational base for ambulance personnel. It will include limited but essential interior space—office, kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, and medical storage—as well as three vehicle bays. The facility will house two fire department rescues and one supervisor vehicle.

This new annex will be located just north of the current station and will utilize the existing driveway at the Granada Road alignment for access. Exterior improvements to the site will include landscaping, on-site parking, a mechanical equipment yard, and perimeter security fencing, all designed to blend with the existing neighborhood and maintain community aesthetics.

Fire Station 601 was built in 2011 and has served as a vital part of the community. The Fire Department is committed to remaining responsible and respectful neighbors as we grow.

Project History

In 2024, the city of Scottsdale transitioned ambulance services in-house, phasing out the previous private ambulance contracts. This shift requires additional space to accommodate staff and emergency vehicles to maintain seamless service delivery.
