Crime Prevention Unit

Overview

The Crime Prevention Unit of the Scottsdale Police Department is primarily concerned with the safety of our residents, businesses and visitors, and their property, along with their perceptions and misperceptions of crime. Crime prevention practices are developed based on the analysis of crime committed within the city to include both geographic issues, crime trends and persons-of-interest. The purpose of the Crime Prevention Unit is to reduce the potential of Scottsdale residents, businesses and visitors in becoming victims of crime and to help educate citizens on how to decrease their likelihood of becoming victimized.
