Most city offices and facilities will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. Trash and recycling collection is not affected. Place your containers in their usual spot by 5 a.m. the morning of collection or the night before.
Join us for Scottsdale’s annual Veterans Day Commemoration. This event will once again bring the community together to express gratitude to our nation’s heroes. The event will feature remarks from local leaders, a keynote address from Air Force veteran Mario Valencia, and a moment of remembrance. Mario will share his story of resilience and recovery as a survivor of the 1995 attack on the Khobar Towers barracks in Saudi Arabia.

CTAP Talks: Remembering World II with Scottsdale Historian Joan Fudala. Join us for an engaging evening at CattleTrack Arts as Scottsdale historian and U.S. Air Force veteran Joan Fudala shares “Remembering World War II: Scottsdale’s Military Bases, Home Front and Veterans — 80 Years Later.”
Through a photo-rich presentation, Joan will explore Scottsdale’s contributions to World War II and the lasting impact of veterans on the city’s growth since 1945.

Canal Convergence is back for its 14th year at the Scottsdale Waterfront, and this year’s theme is nothing short of spectacular: SHOWTIME! Through Nov. 16, experience an extraordinary lineup of light-based public art installations that transform the waterfront into a glowing stage of creativity. This year’s program will spotlight the “art” of performance through interactive artwork, workshops, tours, community activities, live music and dance.
Upcoming event will limit access to Scottsdale Civic Center. The Old Town Scottsdale calendar is filled with events this season with an expected surge in visitors over the next several months. To ensure the highest level of safety and quality at these events, in some cases, public areas will be restricted. This includes limited access to the Scottsdale Civic Center surrounding the Every Woman’s Marathon.
- Monday, Nov. 10 – Wednesday, Nov. 12: Limited access, open on the north side only via east/west access points beginning midday.
- Thursday, Nov. 13 – Sunday, Nov. 16: Full closure
- Monday, Nov. 17: Limited access. The Scottsdale Civic Center will reopen in stages as teams safely load out equipment.

Explore galleries during Scottsdale ArtWalk. Scottsdale is home to more than 100 galleries, dedicated to exhibiting the finest visual art from around the world and locally. Stroll at your own pace. 7-9 p.m. Thursdays. Specialty-themed Gold Palette ArtWalks are held 6:30-9 p.m. about once a month.

Neighborhood College: HOA/Condominium Board Roundtable. This one-hour session will have a special guest in the first 30 minutes and for the second, we'll talk about what you want, and we'll brainstorm solutions together! The Roundtable will be held in the Book Discussion Room of the Mustang Library, 10101 N. 90th St. Please note: This is for board members of HOA and Condominium associations only.

Backing Up Your Data. Learn the best techniques to back up your digital information, including photos, music, videos, documents, and downloads from your PC, phone and tablet. This course covers the use of external hard drives, flash drives and various cloud services.

Last call to participate in the Safe Streets Scottsdale questionnaire. Transportation safety affects all of us: motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians and transit users. Help shape Scottsdale’s Transportation Safety Plan by completing a short, 10–12-minute online questionnaire. Your feedback will help shape strategies to prevent severe crashes, support safe travel for everyone and guide future investments in transportation safety. Scottsdale Airport is making steady progress on its Master Plan Update, and you're invited to learn more at a public information workshop. This open-house style event is a chance to explore proposed improvements, ask questions and share your thoughts. Drop in anytime during the workshop. Airport staff and planning consultants will be available throughout the evening to walk you through development concepts and gather input from community members, tenants and airport users.
