Scottsdale Food Bank has expanded its services and relocated to a larger facility to better meet the needs of the community. 

Now operating from a new 5,066-square-foot warehouse at 7601 E. McKellips Road, the food bank has more than tripled its capacity — serving up to 20 households daily, compared to just six at its former Vista del Camino Community Center location.

The new facility supports expanded partnerships with St. Mary’s Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul and local grocery stores, allowing for a wider variety of fresh food offerings. In fiscal year 2024-25, the food bank distributed nearly $1 million worth of food, up from $640,000 the year before — a number expected to rise with the enhanced space. 

Programs are also growing. The Brown Bag Program, which provides nutritious meals to seniors in need, has transitioned from Granite Reef Senior Center to the new location. And the Healthy Pack Program, which provides weekend meals to Scottsdale Unified School District students, is increasing weekly distributions from 350 to 400 packs.

With additional improvements, including a community garden and shaded patio planned, volunteers are needed to support the growing services. 

“Get involved, give back and help neighbors in our community with food insecurity,” said Human Services Supervisor Jonathan Montoya.
