Project Update

Work is underway to install Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) fiber, vaults and conduit along Shea Blvd. between Loop 101 and 136th Street. The ITS installation will improve traffic operations along the corridor and facilitate future intersection improvements at Shea Blvd. and Via Linda, 110th, 114th and 136th streets.

The following improvements will be made to the intersections:

  • Installation of right-turn lanes at 110th St. and 114th St.
  • Improvement of signal operations at Shea Blvd. and 110th St. with the addition of east/west protected permissive phasing.
  • Improving sight distance at the intersections of 110th St, Via Linda and 136th St.
  • Installation/improvement of the sidewalk on south side of Shea Blvd. between 112th and 114th streets and the north side of Shea Blvd. between 136th St. to the city boundary.

Construction Information

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic disruptions will be in place during work hours, but disruptions outside of these work hours are expected to be minimal. Night and weekend work is not currently anticipated but may be required. Utilities should not be affected by construction.

The ITS work through this corridor is expected to be complete in the spring of 2024 when the intersection work will begin. The entire project will be complete in the fall of 2024.
