Headline News

When storms hit, Scottsdale responds.

Scottsdale’s 24/7 Emergency Response Team (ERT) provides after-hours support for weather-related incidents and roadway hazards, responding to issues such as flooded roads, fallen trees and storm debris. The 15-member team responds to about 95% of calls through 911 dispatch and must be able to reach anywhere in Scottsdale within an hour. During monsoon season, ERT managers closely monitor weather conditions and coordinate with emergency management, police, fire and other city departments to quickly identify hazards, close unsafe roadways and restore safe travel.

FYI

Brown’s Ranch Trailhead and surrounding trails are closed while construction is underway.

The project is making important improvements to visitor access and safety, including a new gathering and trail dispersal area to help alleviate trail congestion and an updated parking lot with improved drainage and accommodations for vehicles with bike racks. Although the closure is temporary, entering the active construction area puts visitors and crews at risk from heavy equipment, open trenches, exposed utilities and other hazards. Please follow all “Trailhead Closed” and “Trail Closed” signs and avoid the area entirely until construction is complete. In the interest of public safety, Scottsdale Police is monitoring the site and will address violations. Construction is expected to wrap up in October, weather permitting.
