Scottsdale Police Department Awarded Grant to Boost Traffic, Pedestrian, and Bicycle Safety

The Scottsdale Police Department is the recipient of two grants from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for Fiscal year 2027.

The Speed Awareness Grant (#2027-PTS-068 totaling $60,000) will allow the Scottsdale Police Department to focus education efforts on the dangers of excessive speed and reckless driving.

The Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Grant (#2027-405g-014 totaling $55,000) will fund education and enforcement efforts related to pedestrian and bicycle safety throughout the city to include the entertainment district.

Serious and fatal traffic collisions have consistently remained an area of concern for our department, and these grants will assist in addressing these concerns. Focus will be on speed awareness, pedestrian, and bicycle safety.

Ultimately, the funding and awarding of these grants will help us reach our Department’s goal to decrease the number of collisions on our roadways and increase community safety.
