Scottsdale launches Experience Passport to guide visitors through Old Town

City News

Scottsdale is offering visitors a new way to explore Old Town with the launch of the Experience Passport, an interactive program designed to highlight local businesses.

The Experience Passport invites visitors to complete activities throughout Old Town by visiting participating locations, collecting stamps and entering weekly drawings for $100 prizes. The program is designed to help guests build their own itinerary while experiencing the area’s southwestern charm, public art and locally owned shops.

The passport is organized around five key themes that reflect Old Town’s tourism offerings: Dine, Discover, Pamper, Sip and Shop. Participants can also complete a bonus “free space” by taking selfies with Old Town’s iconic public art installations.

“Often when visiting a new area, visitors are curious how best to explore and where to go first,” said Kevin Burke, Scottsdale’s senior director of economic development and tourism. “The Experience Passport guides tourists throughout all the different areas of Old Town and inspires them to create an itinerary, while providing a fun and creative challenge.”

Forty local businesses are participating in the program, with many offering special promotions such as discounts on food and beverages, gift-with-purchase offers and buy-one-get-one-free deals.

“The Experience Passport provides local businesses with an opportunity to connect with visitors early in their trip,” Burke said. “It supports local commerce and encourages more foot traffic throughout Old Town.”

Visitors can learn more and access the Experience Passport by visiting OldTownScottsdaleAZ.com and searching “Experience Passport.”
