If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to contribute to the city you call home, now is the perfect time to get involved. Scottsdale is currently seeking residents to serve on various advisory boards and commissions.
These volunteer roles provide residents with real opportunities to get involved in their community, guide long-term planning and shape the future of Scottsdale’s neighborhoods, services and quality of life. Whether you’re experienced in a particular field or simply passionate about community service, your perspective matters.
Scottsdale City Council relies on the thoughtful recommendations of these groups to make informed, community-centered decisions.
Residents interested in serving must submit an online application by Friday, Aug. 28. Current openings include:
- Airport Advisory Commission (2 openings)
- Board of Adjustment (1 opening)
- Development Review Board (1 opening)
- Environmental Advisory Commission (1 opening)
- Industrial Development Authority (1 opening)
- Library Board (2 openings)
- Neighborhood Advisory Commission (2 openings)
- Parks and Recreation Commission (2 openings)
- Planning Commission (3 openings)
- Tourism Development Commission (1 opening for a Scottsdale hotelier)
- Transportation Commission (1 opening)

Applications remain on file for one year. After review, Scottsdale City Council will nominate candidates for interviews and appoint new members in September. Those selected must complete a training session and adhere to the city’s Ethics Code before officially beginning their term.
