Discover, dine and explore: June Days returns to Old Town Scottsdale

City News

Summer is heating up in Scottsdale, and so is the excitement in Old Town. June Days returns throughout the month of June, offering residents and visitors a chance to explore exclusive events, limited-time promotions and summer-only discounts at local businesses.

The annual celebration features more than 30 activities designed to showcase the unique experiences, shops, restaurants and attractions that make Old Town Scottsdale a premier destination year-round.

Guests can enjoy returning favorites such as Scottsdale Stadium tours, Stories & Sweets and the popular Tournament of Treats, while new additions this year include the Afterglow Sunset Photo Competition and Global Run Day.

"June Days is a great example of how Scottsdale supports local businesses while creating memorable experiences for residents and visitors," said Scottsdale City Manager Greg Caton. "Old Town is the heart of our community, and this monthlong celebration highlights the unique character, culture and entrepreneurship that make it such a special destination."

To create the June Days lineup, the city's Old Town team partners with local businesses to offer a diverse mix of experiences, including cooking classes, crafting clubs, gardening workshops, ArtWalks and more. The city will also host two exclusive Scottsdale Stadium insider tours over Father's Day weekend, providing a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of Scottsdale's most iconic venues.

"June Days brings together the best of Old Town while encouraging people to discover new experiences and support local businesses," said Kevin Burke, Scottsdale's senior director of Economic Development & Tourism.

A highlight of the month is the return of the Tournament of Treats, a community competition to crown Old Town's favorite frozen dessert. Defending champion Shakes & Cones returns to face off against Original ChopShop, Sweet Dee's Bakeshop, Skoop Premium Ice Cream, Red Canyon Café, Sweet Republic and Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream. Community members can vote for their favorite treat throughout June, and one participant will be selected to win a $100 Old Town dining gift card.

New this year is the Afterglow Sunset Photo Competition, which invites amateur and professional photographers to capture Scottsdale's stunning sunsets. Participants can submit photos taken anywhere in Old Town throughout the month. Three winning images will be selected at the end of June.

"The Afterglow Sunset Photo Competition is a fun way to showcase Scottsdale's natural beauty and the businesses that help create memorable experiences in Old Town," Burke said.

Several participating businesses, including Aloft Scottsdale, Cien Agave, Allegra at The Remi, LDV Winery and Boondocks, are encouraging visitors to capture and share their favorite sunset views as part of the competition.

June Days is designed to encourage residents to rediscover Old Town and invite family and friends to experience its unique blend of dining, shopping, entertainment, art and culture.
