Scottsdale Water begins planned maintenance at Well 27B
Planned inspection and refurbishment work is underway this week at Well 27B, a city-owned groundwater well located at the Promenade Corporate Center near the southeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.
The planned work is part of Scottsdale Water’s ongoing maintenance of its water infrastructure. Crews will inspect the well and pump, remove and examine equipment as needed, and refurbish or replace components based on the condition of the equipment.
The work will help ensure Well 27B remains safe, reliable and available for continued use.
While groundwater is not Scottsdale’s primary water source, maintaining the wells and infrastructure needed to access it is an important part of the city’s diversified water supply portfolio. Maintaining these resources provides Scottsdale with additional flexibility and strengthens the city’s ability to respond to future water supply needs.
“Maintaining our water infrastructure today helps ensure we have reliable options available for the future,” said Thyra Ryden-Diaz, interim senior director at Scottsdale Water. “Well 27B is one piece of Scottsdale’s broader, diversified approach to water supply reliability.”
Scottsdale Water uses a combination of renewable surface water supplies, groundwater, reclaimed water and other resources to meet the community’s water needs. The city continually invests in its water infrastructure to maintain reliability and prepare for future conditions.
