Meet your neighbors and get involved in the community during G.A.I.N.

City News

Scottsdale residents are invited to bring their neighbors together for G.A.I.N. 2026 on Saturday, Oct. 10, an annual community event that encourages neighborhood connections, promotes safety and celebrates the role residents play in crime prevention.

Formerly known as National Night Out, G.A.I.N., or Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods, gives Scottsdale neighborhoods an opportunity to host block parties and other gatherings where neighbors can get to know one another, strengthen communication and build stronger, safer communities.

“Safe and connected neighborhoods are built by people who know and look out for one another,” said Scottsdale City Manager Greg Caton. “G.A.I.N. is a great opportunity for residents to come together, meet their neighbors and strengthen the relationships that make Scottsdale such a strong community.”

Neighborhood block parties are a great way to meet neighbors, build relationships and promote neighborhood safety. The city provides resources to help residents organize their gatherings, including block party equipment such as portable sound systems, traffic safety cones, shade canopies, ice chests and beverage coolers. Residents can also request visits from city staff, including Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation and other departments, subject to availability and advance notice.
