Big events take the stage at Scottsdale Civic Center this November
Scottsdale’s event season heats up this month with two major happenings debuting at Scottsdale Civic Center — the Dreamy Draw Music Festival and Every Woman’s Marathon — bringing music, movement and community spirit to the heart of Old Town.
Scottsdale Civic Center will have limited access Nov. 6-17 to accommodate both events.
Dreamy Draw Music Festival celebrates Arizona’s vibrant country and Americana music scene, showcasing local and national artists in a one-of-a-kind Scottsdale venue. The festival will be held from 3-11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, and from 1-11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, featuring live performances on all three stages at the Civic Center as well as at Scottsdale Stadium.
The second level of the Civic Center Library parking garage will serve as a pedestrian walkway between Civic Center and the stadium. While the garage will remain open for library patrons, city staff and nearby businesses, visitors should expect increased foot traffic and temporary signage throughout the weekend.
Every Woman’s Marathon is a national running event and festival celebrating the strength, wellness and community of women. The official event schedule includes the pre-race expo from 2-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15. The marathon and festival will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16. Only registered runners and their guests will have access to event areas. The course primarily follows the Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt, taking runners through several north Scottsdale intersections where traffic will be managed by safety personnel. The route exits the greenbelt at McDowell Road. Drivers and others near the race route should plan for delays, use alternate routes, and allow extra travel time, as several streets will be impacted throughout the morning and early afternoon. See the race route and specific closure schedule at runsignup.com/w/community.
Some fencing around Civic Center will be temporarily adjusted from Nov. 10–12 to maintain east–west pedestrian access across the northern portion of Civic Center and ensure continued access to City Hall. By end of day Nov. 12, the campus will again be fully fenced as final preparations for the Every Woman’s Marathon event festival take place.
Parking spaces along 75th Street, behind the East Bowl stage, will also be closed for event vehicles and equipment for both the music festival and marathon. Civic Center fully reopens to the public on Monday, Nov. 17.
Residents, visitors, and Old Town businesses are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for parking and access around the area throughout both events.
