The city of Scottsdale will hold a public hearing May 6, 2024, 5 p.m. at City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd. Scottsdale, AZ. 85251 to obtain citizen input and comment on its Fiscal Year 2024/25 Year 5 Annual Action Plan. The formal comment process commences April 6, 2024, and ends May 6, 2024. The Annual Action Plan includes an Application for Federal Assistance to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for FY 2024/25 (July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025). Written comments should be addressed to City of Scottsdale, Community Assistance Office, 6535 E. Osborn Road – Building 8, Scottsdale, AZ 85251. An online poll allowing Scottsdale residents to comment on the proposed Annual Action activities was posted on the city of Scottsdale website on February 8, 2024, through March 7, 2024. The results from the online poll and a copy of the FY 2024/25 Annual Action Plan will be available online at Scottsdale Get Involved during the formal comment process.
The Annual Action Plans for FY2024/25 and the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for FY 2023/24 are available for review at the Community Assistance Office. Those interested in receiving a copy of the Annual Action Plan and/or the CAPER report may do so by contacting Chad Beougher, Community Development Supervisor at 480-312-7424. These documents may be made available in alternate formats upon request. The key items, which may be addressed during the public hearing, will include, but not be limited to, the following items for the Annual Action Plan:
The city of Scottsdale anticipates receiving $1,163,185 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding allocation. The CDBG funds may be used for the following activities and must benefit qualifying individual families who are low and moderate income:
- Public Services
- Housing Rehabilitation
- Acquisition of Real Property
- Public Facilities
- Economic Development
- Planning and Administration
The city of Scottsdale anticipates receiving $355,614 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funding allocation. The HOME funds may be used for the following activities and must benefit qualifying individual families who are low and moderate income:
- Homeowner (owner-occupied) rehabilitation
- Rental housing acquisition, new construction, or rehabilitation
- Homebuyer housing acquisition, new construction, or rehabilitation, including direct assistance to eligible homebuyers to purchase the housing
- Tenant-based rental assistance (rental subsidy)
Citizens may comment on any aspect of the Annual Action Plan and/or the city’s performance in addressing housing and community development needs.
