Scottsdale adopts budget that aligns resources with community priorities.

Scottsdale City Council has adopted a $2.119 billion fiscal year 2026/27 budget that is $84.7 million lower than the current year while continuing to invest in core community priorities and maintaining a strong financial position. The budget preserves a balanced General Fund with a projected ending fund balance of $214.4 million and emphasizes public safety, including funding for the Civic Center Jail and Downtown Police Facility expansion, a new fire station, the municipal ambulance service and compensation parity for police and fire personnel. Transportation improvements include $45 million for pavement preservation, reconstruction of Thomas Road and modernization of major traffic signal equipment. The city is also investing approximately $331 million in water and water reclamation infrastructure projects, with more than $855 million planned over the next five years to strengthen long-term water reliability and sustainability. Additional funding supports park, preserve and tourism-related improvements, including upgrades at Vista del Camino Park, McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, Old Town Scottsdale, WestWorld and Scottsdale Stadium.
