Scottsdale seeks residents to serve on city boards and commissions
Looking for a meaningful way to get involved in your community? Scottsdale is seeking passionate residents to apply for open positions on citizen advisory boards, commissions and committees. These volunteer roles offer a unique opportunity to shape city policies, provide recommendations and make a lasting impact.
There are several openings across the city’s public bodies, including the Building Advisory Board of Appeals, the Human Relations Commission and the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Scottsdale City Council relies on these citizen-led groups to research issues and offer insights that guide important decisions.
Residents interested in serving must submit an online application by Friday, Feb. 20.
Current openings include:
- Board of Adjustment (1 opening)
- Building Advisory Board of Appeals (1 opening)
- Human Relations Commission (1 opening)
- Human Services Advisory Commission (1 opening)
- Industrial Development Authority (2 openings)
- Library Board (1 opening)
- Parks and Recreation Commission (1 opening)
- Tourism Development Commission (1 opening)
- Veterans Advisory Commission (1 opening)

Applications remain on file for one year. After review, the Scottsdale City Council will nominate candidates for interviews and appoint new members in March. Those selected must complete a training session and adhere to the city’s Ethics Code before officially beginning their term.
