Volunteer

Scottsdale Fire volunteers help present programs and complete projects important to the operation of the department. We are not accepting new volunteers at this time.  Please check back for new opportunities in 2015.

The following programs are examples of activities volunteers assist SFD in presenting to the community. If you have questions about our volunteer program, contact fire@scottsdaleaz.gov.

Home Safe Home

Home Safe Home volunteers visit seniors in their homes, point out home tripping/falling hazards. When appropriate, they refer residents to our partners: City of Scottsdale Senior Centers, Rebuilding Together, and ViCAP. Rebuilding Together and ViCAP are non-profit organizations that do home modifications for seniors.

Administrative Assistance

HQ volunteers assist with data entry, event supply preparaton and other administrative duties.

Delivery Volunteers

Volunteers make deliveries to fire stations, city buildings and other locations. Individuals may be required to lift heavy items when making deliveries.

Community Event Volunteers

Volunteers staff a booth at community events, distribute Fire Department materials and answer community questions about the Scottsdale Fire Department and fire safety. Individuals may be required to lift heavy items when setting up and tearing down booths.
