Home Safe HomeHome Safe Home volunteers visit seniors in their homes, point out home tripping/falling hazards. When appropriate, they refer residents to our partners: Scottsdale Healthcare, City of Scottsdale Senior Centers, Rebuilding Together, and ViCAP. Rebuilding Together and ViCAP are non-profit organizations that do home modifications for seniors.
HQ volunteers help coordinate volunteer programs, schedule appointments with residents and assist with other administrative duties.
Volunteers make deliveries to fire stations, city buildings and other locations. Individuals may be required to lift heavy items when making deliveries.
Community Event Volunteers
Volunteers staff a booth at community events, distribute Fire Department materials and answer community questions about the Scottsdale Fire Department and fire safety. Individuals may be required to lift heavy items when setting up and tearing down booths.
If you love public speaking or one-on-one teaching, this may be for you. Volunteers:
- Show people how to save a life with Hands-Only CPR.
- Lead lessons in fire, transportation and water safety to preschoolers through 3rd grade.
Assist with school field days that teach children fire safety with hands-on activities.
Work with teens to address safe driving practices, emergency response and public safety.
