Submit a Crime Tip

Mobile phone users can now provide anonymous crime tips to the Scottsdale Police Department. The service, called TipSoft, allows citizens to send anonymous tips online, by iPhone or Android mobile apps or by sending a text message from a mobile phone.

Important Note: if you have an EMERGENCY, CALL 9-1-1.
Do not use this form to report crimes in progress, file a report by calling the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000.

Citizens are encouraged to use TipSoft to report information about any non-urgent illegal activity such as:

  •  Unsolved cases
  •  Wanted persons
  •  Vandalism
  •  Traffic concerns
  •  Theft
  •  Sale and distribution of drugs
  •  Information about crimes that are being planned in the community or schools

Two simple ways to submit a tip:

Option 1:   Submit a tip anytime online

Option 2: Submit a tip by text messaging

The service, called TipSoft, allows citizens to send tips online, by iPhone or Android mobile apps or by sending a text message to "CRIMES" 274637 with the keyword scottsdalepd from a mobile phone. This specifically allows text message providers to remain anonymous by encrypting the text messages, assigning them a unique ID, and routing them through secure servers, protecting the personal details of the information provider.

Text to 'CRIMES" (274637) with the keyword scottsdalepd
