Lobby Display AT Headquarters features Steel from World Trade Center Towers
On Dec. 31, 2013, Scottsdale Fire Department received a piece of steel from the World Trade Center towers. The Steel was given to SFD by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the World Trade Center steel program out of the building, donating steel recovered from the WTC site to cities, towns, firehouses and museums around the United States and the world.

reduce risk of slips, Trips and falls
Scottsdale Fire Department regularly is called to homes to help an older adult who has fallen.
According to the CDC's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, one out of three adults, aged 65 or older, falls each year but less than half talk to their healthcare providers about it.
There are some actions you can take to make your home safer and reduce your risk of falling. These include regular gentle exercise, installing grab bars in the bathroom, removing throw rugs and reviewing your medications with a health specialist.
Home Safe Home is a free program of the Scottsdale Fire Department where trained volunteers visit your home to help you identify your tripping and falling hazards. Learn more here.
