Super Season Success
Scottsdale Airport hit an all-time record for operations from Thursday, Jan. 29 through Monday, Feb. 2 with 1,200 takeoffs and landings. This was considered the city's Super Season with both the Waste Management Phoenix Open and Super Bowl taking place in Arizona. Scottsdale Airport led valley airports with the majority of arrivals and departures -- and there were no delays for airport users!

The airport is self-funded and reaped some economic benefits with this spike in operations through rates, fuel flowage and fees.

Scottsdale Airport Master Plan
Scottsdale Airport is updating its master plan, a proactive record that identifies and plans for future facility needs. The city-owned airport has been hosting a series of workshops where the public can learn about the plan and the process.
A public workshop was held Jan. 6 at the Scottsdale Airport Terminal. This workshop will focus on a recommended master plan concept, economic benefit analysis and environmental evaluation.
The master plan focuses on several key areas including aviation forecasts, demand/capacity, facility requirements, airfield design and safety standards, development alternatives and environmental reviews. It does not include noise abatement or studies. This was conducted thoroughly through a public process in 2005.
More information, including online comment form, is available on the Airport Master Plan website. Questions? Contact Scottsdale Airport at 480-312-2321.
