Pavement Preservation Program
Program Details
As roadways deteriorate, the possibility of potholes, cracks and other roadway imperfections that affect driving conditions increases. To help ensure smoother, safer driving conditions, the city operates an annual pavement maintenance program. Street segments are continually evaluated and improved throughout the city.
Paving projects includes removing, or “milling,” the old pavement and then resurfacing, or “overlaying,” the road with new pavement and striping. Utility access must also be adjusted before and after the paving project.
All work will be performed by M. R. Tanner Construction under contract to the city of Scottsdale.
For additional information during construction, please contact Paving Manager Shayne Lopez at 480-312-5665 or SLopez@ScottsdaleAZ.gov.
Work Hours
Work is typically completed weekdays only between the hours of 5 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Traffic Restrictions
Streets are typically reduced by one lane in each direction during project work hours. Signs will be posted indicating business access points.
Funding
The annual pavement maintenance program is funded by the Transportation Sales Tax.
