Summer Programs (summer camp)

Parks and Recreation summer camps offer dynamic, enriching recreational opportunities for youth. The activities conducted in the camps will contribute to the physical, social and mental growth of each participant. 

Summer 2020 Summer Camp Details

Scottsdale Full-Day Summer Camps are now extended through July 31st at all locations. 

Registration is required and there is limited space available. If you registered for the "Full-Camp 8-Week" option, our Extended Camp requires new registration and payment. 

Registration begins May 26 at 8 a.m. for Scottsdale residents, and May 27 at 8 a.m. for non-residents. Register at Recreation.ScottsdaleAZ.gov.

1st - 5th Grade Camps (5y/9m but less than 12) by the Fall 2020 academic school year 
Cost: $125/week
Programs offered at:
Echo Canyon Elementary School (4330 N 62nd St.)
Cocopah Middle School (6615 E Cholla St.)
Desert Canyon Middle School (10103 E. McDowell Mt. Ranch Rd)
Horizon Park and Community Center (15444 N 100th St)

678 Teen Camp Youth in 6, 7 or 8 grade by the Fall 2020 academic school year
Cost: $125/week

Desert Canyon Middle School (10103 E. McDowell Mt. Ranch Rd)

Summer Activity Camp

June 1 - July 24 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Youth in 1-6 grade by the Fall 2020 academic school year
Cost: $65/week
Programs offered at:
Mountain View Community Center (8625 E Mountain View Road) 

 

 

Important Information regarding program staff and participant safety:

• Participants will be dropped off and picked up outside of the building
• Parents/outside guests/volunteers who do not provide direct services to program will not be permitted in the building
• Due to staffing restrictions, participant drop-off must occur by 10 a.m.
• Participants and staff will have their temperature taken with no-touch thermometers prior to entering the building; if the temperature reads at 100.4° or greater, they will not be permitted to join the program for 48 hours
• If a participant exhibits symptoms of illness during the program,
they will be isolated and sent home
• Hand washing will be required before entering the programs,
and between program rotations.
• Staff will hourly clean high touch areas
• Participants must bring their own lunch – no meal deliveries
• Staff and participants are required to wear face coverings
• If a participant is being picked up before 3:30 p.m., call the site phone for assistance

If your child has special needs relating to disability or medications, please contact Adaptive Recreation Services at 480-312-2234. Staff will discuss your child’s needs and determine appropriate accommodations. Children with disabilities are included into existing programs with their non-disabled peers.

General Information

    • Program available for youth in grades 1-8, depending on location. 
    • All participants must wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes and bring their own lunch.
    • Youth must be the appropriate age by the first day of each session.
    • All camps are drop-in format and are not licensed child care programs.
    • Limited financial assistance is available to Scottsdale residents.
