Cultural Resource Master Plan

In late 2016, the City Council approved the Cultural Resource Master Plan for the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Please click here to review the document (PDF). Cultural resources include archaeological and historical sites, architecture, artifacts, and landscape features created by humans. The Cultural Resource Master Plan guides decisions related to the interpretation, protection, and management of cultural and historical resources within the Preserve and identifies the City’s vision, goals, objectives, and implementation strategies for the management of cultural resources. The plan also includes specific recommendations for the management of the historic Brown’s Ranch and associated archaeological sites and features.
