The City of Scottsdale and Logan Simpson Design, Inc. have completed the final draft of the Cultural Resource Master Plan for the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Please click here to review the document (PDF). The Scottsdale City Council will consider approval of the plan on December 2, 2016.
Cultural resources include archaeological and historical sites, architecture, artifacts, and landscape features created by humans. The Cultural Resource Master Plan guides decisions related to the interpretation, protection, and management of cultural and historical resources within the Preserve and identifies the City’s vision, goals, objectives, and implementation strategies for the management of cultural resources. The plan also includes specific recommendations for the management of the historic Brown’s Ranch and associated archaeological sites and features.
