Community Emergency Notification System

CENS is the Community Emergency Notification System. The system is designed to rapidly notify an affected area of an emergency by sending a recorded message through the telephone system. It is often referred to as “Reverse 9-1-1”.

CENS may be used to notify you of an emergency in your area. Traditional land lines are included automatically, but cell phones and Voice over Internet Phones (VOIP) must be registered. There are 3 ways to register your cell or VOIP phone to receive emergency alerts:

Visit Ready.Maricopa.Gov and select "Maricopa Region 911 Sign Up for Emergency Alerts" and then follow the instructions to sign up for the alerts.
