Spring and bike helmets are in the air as we head toward April, also known as Valley Bike Month among folks partial to peddling. Scottsdale is joining the month-long cycling celebration with a variety of events:
Scottsdale Parks and Recreation will be showing a movie at sundown, Saturday, April 6, at Thunderbird Park . The event will include a free play area, city booths and food for sale from 6 to 9 p.m., and the 1995 version of Jumanji will be shown after sunset. For more information, please call 480-312-0221.
Cycle the Arts
Scottsdale Transportation and Scottsdale Public Art will once again team up to lead the annual Cycle the Arts ride 8:30 a.m. Sunday, April 14. Experienced cycling volunteers help groups safely navigate a tour of selected Scottsdale outdoor art pieces, while artists and art enthusiasts share information at each of the stops. The leisurely ride is different every year and good for all levels of cyclists, including children. For more information or to RSVP, please visit Scottsdale Public Art .
Bike to Work Day
Scottsdale will also be participating in the Valley-wide Bike to Work Day event Wednesday, April 17. Stations will be set up 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at four locations around Scottsdale with water, snacks and free t-shirts.
