Bring the whole family to Eldorado Aquatic Center from 4 - 9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 30 for some fun, sun and safety at Scottsdale Aquatic's annual Safety Luau. This free event will teach you the importance of water safety while practicing your hula skills. Enjoy free open-swim and end the night with a dive-in movie showing of Disney's Lilo & Stitch. Eldorado Aquatic Center is located at 2301 N. Miller Road.
The annual Safety Luau is held every year in late July as a precursor to drowning impact awareness month in August. “We love hosting the Safety Luau every year,” says Kyu-Bin Hyun, Parks and Recreation Manager. “It gives families an opportunity to learn about water safety in a fun and informative way.” As part of Arizona’s Drowning Impact Awareness Month, Scottsdale Aquatics is offering free learn-to-swim lessons for all ages during August. Participants are limited to reserving one time slot when they register. Registration for August swim lessons begins Tuesday, July 25 for Scottsdale residents and Tuesday, Aug. 1 for non-residents. Visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search “Aquatics” to learn more.
