Kick off fall event season with Scottsdale Parks and Recreation! We are offering plenty of family-fun community events in October.
- Railfair: The Railroad Park will kick off their fall event season by celebrating all things railroading on Oct. 2 – 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Multiple railroading clubs will be on-site to show off their model train layouts. Also available will be tours of the park’s train shed with the steam engineers. Admission to the event is free, train rides on the Paradise & Pacific Railroad and the Charros Carousel are $3 for everyone ages 3 and older. Visit the Railroad Park’s website for more information.
- Halloween Spook-Track-Ula: Stop in for a spell as the Paradise & Pacific Railroad is transformed into a haunted park of fun for this family-friendly event. The event will be held Oct. 8 – 31 with limited capacity. There will be two one and a half hour reservable time blocks at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. nightly. Tickets are on sale now and the cost is $15 per ticket, per person. Visit the Railroad Park’s website for more information.
- Dunkin’ for Pumpkins: Join us at McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic Center on Sunday, October 24 for a floating pumpkin patch. The pool will be heated and there will be stations to decorate your pumpkin, as well as fun water safety activities. The cost is $15 per pumpkin and pre-registration is required. There are two reservable time slots from 1 -3 p.m. and 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Registration is now open.
- Family Night at the Pumpkin Patch: Join us for a spooky good time and decorate your own unique pumpkins! We’ll provide the decorative supplies, pizza and drinks, while you pick out a pumpkin from our patch. The price is $10 per child and $5 per adult. Additional pumpkins are available for $5. The event will be held at two centers on two nights, and registration is required.
Please note that Scottsdale’s Fall Festival, historically held in October at Eldorado Park, will not take place this year. We hope you be able to join us at one of the October events listed above. The City’s events staff will continue to review opportunities to host events in the future. Follow Parks and Recreation on social media to stay up to date on events and activities!
