After a temporary closure due to snow conditions, the Tom’s Thumb Trailhead and surrounding trails will reopen for normal hours of operation on Thursday, Jan. 28. The snow has melted from the trail, but patchy wet conditions may still exist. The city asks all Preserve users to be respectful of the trails beneath them. Wet and muddy trails are vulnerable to damage from boots, hooves, and bike tires. The general “Rain Refrain” ethic is that if you are leaving tracks, it’s too wet. Please stop and turn around. The city of Scottsdale appreciates your cooperation and continued support and respect for the Preserve.
