Conducted through an intergovernmental agreement between the Scottsdale Unified School District No. 48 and the City of Scottsdale, this audit examined the District’s human resources organizational functions, including its strategic and operational planning and staffing services.
The audit identified that improvements to HR data reliability and availability could better inform the District’s recruitment and retention strategies and allow for performance monitoring. Increased monitoring and oversight of some recruitment activities are also needed. As well, standardizing and streamlining procedures could help address workload pressures and allow the department to move towards its strategic goals.
The final audit report was presented to the District’s Audit Committee and Governing Board during public meetings held in March and May 2023.
