Scottsdale Fire Department wrapped its 2021 Toy Drive with nearly 20,000 toys collected October through December.
“We always hope to properly support our partner agencies with toys for their families in need,” said Scottsdale Fire Chief Tom Shannon. “This year we were delighted by the generosity of the community, and especially those businesses who worked hard to make a difference this holiday season.”
Toys were collected at each of Scottsdale’s fire stations, police district offices, Public Safety Headquarters, and a variety of local businesses. Some donors participated in the Disney on Ice show ticket exchange. PetsMart donations from 3 local stores filled toy boxes. The drive was also the beneficiary of an inspiring contribution from Cardone Ventures and American Academy Hospitality of Science that included 6,000 toys.
Agencies receiving these donations this year include:
- Vista Del Camino/Paiute Neighborhood Center
- HonorHealth at Shea, Osborn and Thompson Peak
- Family Promise
- Arizona Helping Hands
- Armer Foundation for Kids
- Harvest Compassion Center
- Sunshine Acres Children’s Home
“Organizations depend on this program to help them serve their families during the holidays and throughout the year,” said Chief Shannon. “It is our pleasure to assist in bringing smiles to children and families.”
