The Maricopa County Elections Office has provided the city’s preliminary unofficial general election results, which include results from all 175 Maricopa County voting centers and results from the early ballots that have been verified and counted to date.
Voters dropped off thousands of ballots at the polls on Election Day that remain to be verified and counted. These early ballots take longer to verify and process, so final results will be forthcoming. In addition, anyone who did not have proper identification at the polls yesterday will have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, to present identification and have his or her provisional ballot counted.
Currently, David “Dave” Ortega is ahead in the Scottsdale mayor’s race over challenger Lisa Borowsky. Betty Janik, Tammy Caputi and Tom Durham are ahead in the race for the three open seats on the City Council.
