While generally effective, contract administration can be improved. From June 2014 through December 2019, the City paid about $77,000 for the museum administration building’s electric utilities, which is the museum operator’s responsibility. Also, certain maintenance requirements in the contract could be further clarified. As well, reporting requirements related to the annual plan and annual performance reports and certain financial information were not completely or timely addressed.
The Contract Administrator agreed with the audit recommendations and plans to work with the City Manager, other City staff and the museum operator to begin implementation.
