Born in fire: Scottsdale's revolutionary fire sprinkler ordinance continues to save lives. May 19 was National Home Fire Sprinkler Day - an effort to recognize a life-saving technology that's been a part of Scottsdale since 1985. Scottsdale was the first city in the country to require home sprinklers in new construction, a move that's saved dozens of lives and multiple properties since its inception. But getting there wasn't easy. Read more about this Scottsdale innovation and the local visionaries who made it happen.

Splish, splash! Bubbles fill new aircraft hangar. Watch how a 30,000-square-foot hangar was quickly filled with foamy bubbles - like a massive bubble bath.  This new fire foam suppression system was tested to ensure airport users and luxury jets are well protected in the event of a fire. This hangar is one of the two new executive hangars being built at Scottsdale Airport as part of the Airport Terminal Area Redevelopment project.
