Scottsdale roads closed in wake of storms
Multiple roads around Scottsdale have been closed or restricted due to flooding or downed power lines from recent storms. For more information, please see our article on storm-related closures, which continues to be updated.
Drinkwater Boulevard closed indefinitely for repairs to Civic Center Mall bridge
Drinkwater Boulevard will remain closed indefinitely to all traffic from Second Street to First Avenue to permit repairs to the Civic Center Mall bridge. Detour on Scottsdale or Miller roads from Osborn Road to Indian School Road. The Civic Center Mall Bridge will also be closed to all pedestrian traffic. More information about the repair project timeline will be available soon.
Fifth Avenue Repaving Project
Fifth Avenue will be closed in phases between Indian School Road and Craftsman Court 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays Aug. 13 - Sept. 8 for repaving. For more details about the project and schedule, please see the project website.
68th Street bridge and Arizona Canal Path remain restricted
The inside lanes in both directions on 68th Street bridge (crossing the Arizona Canal immediately north of Indian School Road) are closed due to deterioration discovered during a routine inspection. Inspections, design and repair work will take 10 to 12 months to complete. The Arizona Canal Path reconstruction will be coordinated with the bridge repair. The path will remain closed from 68th Street to Goldwater Boulevard. Detour on the north side of the canal. Please visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov and search “68th Street Bridge” for more information.
