Scottsdale traffic restrictions April 23 - May 2

Following are significant road construction projects and traffic restrictions occurring in Scottsdale April 23 - May 2. For more information, contact Traffic Engineering at 480-312-7250.

Loop 101 improvement project

The Arizona Department of Transportation has begun a project to widen and improve Loop 101 from Interstate 17 in Phoenix to Pima Road in Scottsdale. To learn more about the project and upcoming traffic restrictions, please visit ADOT’s project webpagelinks to external site, where you can also subscribe to project alerts. Following are current and upcoming restrictions:

  • Loop 101 will have intermittent lane closures between Interstate 17 and Pima Road through spring 2021 for diamond grinding of the pavement. For more information on the diamond grinding process and a map of the Loop 101 closures, please see ADOT’s flier.

Lane restrictions on Cave Creek Road north of Scottsdale city boundary

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be removing and repaving a 1.5-mile section of Cave Creek Road north of Deer Trail Road 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. during April. For more information about the project, please see MCDOT’s project flier.  

Lane restrictions on Hayden Road at Princess Drive

Through traffic on Hayden Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Princess Drive 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays April 16 - 30 while a High Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) is installed. 

Lane restrictions at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Altadena Avenue

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at the intersection of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Altadena Avenue 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 29 – April 30 (except Sundays) for utility work. 

Scottsdale Road restricted near Oak Street (updated)

Scottsdale Road will also be reduced to one lane in each direction between Palm Lane and Oak Street 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays April 19 – May 7 for utility work.

Lane restrictions near Scottsdale and McDowell roads (updated)

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at or near the intersection of Scottsdale and McDowell roads through Friday, May 14, for utility work.
