Scottsdale, Arizona (February 6, 2022) The Scottsdale Police Department (SPD) received grant #2022-405c-004 from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in October of 2021. These funds are being used to purchase equipment to support the Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS) system.
TraCS is an electronic citation and collision reporting program used by agencies around the nation. The system and equipment allows officers to quickly scan and print documents in their vehicles. This technological advancement will help officers spend minimal time when completing citations, warnings, and collision investigations. It also significantly reduces the amount of time motorists and officers spend on the side of the roadway; with less manual input required on behalf of the officer, the accuracy of the data is also increased.
The City of Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Police Department would like to thank the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for their continued support in making the City of Scottsdale’s streets safe.
