Scottsdale Police Arrest Murder Suspect

Scottsdale, Arizona (May 13, 2019)

Today at 2:00 pm, a resident at 6505 E. Osborn Rd called 911 to report that her neighbor asked her to call.  When the dispatcher pressed for more information, the neighbor handed the phone to 46-year-old Holly Brennan.

Brennan told the dispatcher that she had killed her mother.  Scottsdale Patrol officers were dispatched to the complex and they contacted Brennan in front of her apartment.  Brennan told the officers that she killed her mother by smothering her with a pillow.  The officers then entered the apartment and located Brennan’s mother, 79-year-old Sharon Simmons, deceased in a bedroom.

Brennan was arrested and she will be facing charges of first degree murder.  There was a history of domestic violence between Brennan and Simmons.  Both parties have lived together for several years.
