Scottsdale celebrates Arizona Water Professionals Appreciation Week

As the world faces an unprecedented period of uncertainty, one thing Scottsdale residents and businesses can rely on is their 24-hour access to safe, affordable and reliable drinking water and sewer service. While it can be easy to take these services for granted, the reality is that it takes an entire team of dedicated, highly trained professionals to guarantee our families and businesses have this most vital resource.

No other industry plays as crucial a role in making a stay-at-home order possible or keeping essential businesses running as water does, and to celebrate the people at the center of this industry, Scottsdale is proud to acknowledge the week of April 13-17, 2020, as Arizona Water Professionals Appreciation Week.

“Water is our most essential need and, especially in this difficult time, I am thankful knowing our city has safe, clean water at our taps,” said Scottsdale Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane. “I am asking all people of Scottsdale to join me in celebrating Arizona Water Professionals Appreciation Week and acknowledging the vital work our Scottsdale Water employees do every day to ensure our families and businesses have safe, affordable water.”

Having reliable water is critical during normal times. It is even more vital during an emergency, disaster or the current situation we face. During this time, Scottsdale Water is taking extra precautions to protect the health and safety of our employees; and while all of our facilities are currently closed to the public, our customers can be sure that all 200-plus Scottsdale Water professionals are working through this crisis to ensure uninterrupted service to all of Scottsdale’s homes, businesses and vital medical facilities.
